Abstract

This is a piece about the unfolding humanitarian crisis in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan's South Kordofan. It is contended that while getting humanitarian aid into the Nuba immediately is a must, the quest for a lasting resolution has to begin by realizing the limitations inherent in the CPA and in the post-independence issues. Start with negative peace, i.e. cease-fire, and then proceed to building positive peace. The road to peace in the two Sudans has to be paved by a series of negotiations.
