Abstract

This essay sets forth the process, mechanism, and use of the birth control pill and its progeny, the statutory rules and case law currently governing this controversy, and the arguments on both sides of this important issue. It traces the development of contraception as a liberty interest and that connection or disconnection with responsible family planning and concludes that responsibility in the area of contraceptive use and dispensation will be culturally reflected in our future one way or the other.
