Abstract
This essay, based on a speech presented at Villanova University School of Law on the occasion of the sixth Annual John F. Scarpa Conference, honoring the work of Professor John Finnis, concerns methodological issues in general jurisprudence and comments on the work of Professor Finnis, John Gardner, Joseph Raz and Julie Dickson.
