Textual Citations in Documents Submitted to Courts and Judicial Opinions: A Reply to Bryan Garner and an Alternative Approach

In this essay, I will discuss a proposal by Bryan Garner to eliminate textual citations in documents submitted to courts and judicial opinions and instead use footnotes in these types of documents. After critiquing his proposal, I will present my own alternative to the current use of textual citations.
