Abstract

The study evaluated the chemical engineering licensure performance from 2009 to 2011 cognizant of the academic training and readiness of the students to take the exam. Proxy variables were used to measure academic training; these are GPA and correlation course. Correlation is a course added in the curriculum to enhance chances of passing the licensure examination. The findings reveal that there occurred slippage from positive performance in the licensure over the last three years. It was also found that the GPA and correlation were predictors of the licensure and a grade of 2.5 as threshold to pass the examination. Strong and weak cluster subjects were also identified which provided probability of passing the licensure examination.
