Abstract
Offshore jurisdictions are significant recipients of global FDI and leading contributors to Chinese inward investment. This paper will examine the reasons for the role of offshore jurisdictions in foreign direct investment, with a focus on the role that such jurisdictions play in the PRC. The paper considers the use of offshore jurisdictions from a legal perspective and the interplay of offshore structures with PRC law.
