Abstract
This article critically examines the Uganda Mental Health Treatment Bill in a bid to highlight the major changes being proposed and whether they represent a step forward. Any important omissions from the Bill are explored and recommendations for further reform are made. The Bill is examined against a backdrop of legal and healthcare research to ensure that the changes made are in line with the demands of the international community.
