Albanian Business in Front of Tirana Stock Exchange - 2001 (A Survey Analysis)

Abstract

A five years time has almost elapsed, since the official opening of Tirana Stock Exchange, but no stock trading record or listed company is found there yet. Notwithstanding the troubles and political & economic problems occurred in Albania after 1996, and their substantial impact on Tirana Stock Exchange’s activity, the main question Tirana Stock Exchange has been always asked is: Are there any Albanian companies eligible to qualify for official listing at Tirana Stock Exchange and why they are staying so distant from Tirana Stock Exchange?

The following survey analysis, made with companies selected from Albanian big business, attempts to give an answer to this question.
