Abstract

This book covers the first decade of economic reform in China by examining the various financial aspects of post-reform development, including the reform of banking institutions, the role of interest rate and monetary policy. By studying and reading the early stages of economic and financial reforms in China, one can understand the way the China authority is conducting its monetary, fiscal and financial policies today. For example, the manipulation of state-owned enterprise debts and the subsequent increase in provincial debts. The way banks and financial institutions have been reformed and the internationalization of Chinese banking institutions.
