Abstract

Which rights does ownership confer? Are ownership rights specific to ownership, or do they reflect moral principles that apply more broadly? Are ownership rights inventions of law, and culture more generally, or do they have a more natural basis? This chapter reviews recent studies that help answer these questions.

Keywords: ownership; property; ownership rights; cognitive development; developmental psychology
