Abstract
Education is a social development, and highly educated those can inspire a society. Several factors affect academic achievements of students in higher education. In present study show that several factors that are affected by students. Data were collected from 100 graduate and post graduate students of a public university in Bangladesh, using a structured questionnaire and with the benefit of the enumerator. By using descriptive statistics, like frequency distribution, cross tabulation, and chi-square test, we have found that higher education were affected by region, parents' education, parents' income, parents' occupation, family size, the parents, opinion about family planning by parents, religion, type of place residence, political affiliation, and family profile of the students. So, the Government will take some initiative for different kinds of difficulty of higher educated students for getting better performance in the country.
