Abstract

Poverty is the greatest curse of mankind. This black-spot in the moon is very closely differentiated. Society denigrates the poor. Governance and policy makers takes this as challenge. Economists, managers, and other radical thinkers takes this group as the subject of research. Family, group and the community actions continuously strives for the upliftment of the poor. Initiatives to ameliorates poverty, unless properly impregnated to appeals to the needs of the poor, are getting defeated. Strategies are made and implemented with some results. Resources are pirated by those who hardly have a need to get enriched. Efforts are made at local, provincial, national and global level to get the poor to come above the bench-marks, so that, they can sustain themselves. 'Haves' are getting more concerned for 'have-nots', Comings of the rich nations, either in the open forums or as the integral of the world development bodies are deliberating and acting to remove poverty. Their actions focus Asia and Africa where more than two-third poor live. Macro get-up resounds very well but, micro aspects suffer tremendous hardships to implement. Benefits get immersed to the deep waters of intermediation. The process of intermediation, the so called agencies engaged in removing poverty, is red-tapic, corrupt and complacent. To reach poor directly requires a radical change in the present approach. Intermediation is to be marginalized. Net working, in the ambient of innovative institutionalization, can most resourcefully and capaciously cater to the needs of the poor, half of them being women.
