Abstract:
Based on the assumption that the Venezuela financial sector has declined in power and influence, the paper analyzes the causes and the development of the 1994 Venezuela financial crisis. It presents evidence of the inefficient operation of the financial sector during times of financial regulation (1973-81 and 1984-89). The focus is on macroeconomic disorders.
