Admiralty Law: Not Just for the Specialist

Abstract:     
Many believe that admiralty law is relevant only to those who specialize in maritime matters. On the contrary, admiralty and maritime law has far more applications than most realize. This short (10 page) article demonstrates admiralty's influence on the common law and cites several examples where admiralty law might override state statutory and common law.
