Abstract:
Of the three social security institutions whom constitute the Turkish social security system, two of them, social security institution and the social security institution for self-employed persons, will be unable to meet their liabilities from their own sources until year 2050, thus, by using ILO's data and making various assumptions, we develop a contrafactual privatization alternative, and compare financial situation and effective insurance rates with current system, also, both institutions' financial projections are made and evaluated. This study shows that both institutions' financial deficits could be decreased greatly under privatization alternative.
