Ethics and Corporate ResponsibilityMarina RicciValparaiso University August 2006 Abstract: Legal ethics in business law have been more prevalent over recent years. With the corporate scandals involving Enron, WorldCom and Tyco, the Sarbanes Oxley Act has been enacted in order to give those in the business world more flexibility in revealing the wrongdoings of executives who would rather keep the information to themselves and away from the general public. However, because these scandals tend to harm the people furthest down the line from those in the Ivory Towers, the new provisions and handling of unethical behavior in business law has come at exactly the right time in order to mitigate future harm.
