Abstract
This paper is a book review of Tax Stories: An In-Depth Look at Ten Leading Federal Income Tax Cases edited by Paul Caron (Foundation Press: New York, 2003). After providing some context about the challenges of teaching tax law, this paper examines the general objectives of this book, its application of historical analysis to the leading income tax cases, and how the specific chapters further the book's general aims. The review concludes with a brief evaluation of the historical insights, limits, and ironies of the book.
