Guidelines for Integrating Socially Responsible Investment in the Investment ProcessFrank Jan De GraafAmsterdam University of Applied Sciences; University of Amsterdam - Department of Business Studies (BS) Alfred SlagerTilburg University - Department of Economics August 2006 Abstract: This paper addresses the implementation of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) in the investment process. We argue that a clear distinction needs to be made between (1) ethical based, (2) investment driven and value-ensuring objectives in SRI. This distinction enables trustees and investors to effectively address the SRI strategies in the hierarchy of the investment process.
