Abstract:
Impeachment of judges in India is a tricky affair. After the only instance that went all the way to the parliament was foiled, a number of agitations by bar associations for removal of corrupt judges have come a cropper. The present mechanism was set up by the Supreme Court itself against this backdrop, and many other reasons. This study is a theoretical trip on judicial accountability and impeachment of recalcitrant judges.
