Provocative Reforms: A Comparative Critique

Abstract:
This article argues that reform recommendations from the Victorian Law Reform Commission confront the reality of male violence and condemn it; in contrast, restricted recommendations from England's Law Commission do little to reprove it. The VLRC's expansive package of reforms (which includes the abolition of provocation) is commended as a blueprint for all jurisdictions to adopt.
