It is a report submitted at the 16th International Congress of Comparative Law, held in Brisbane, Australia, on July 14-20, 2002. The report addresses a number of subjects identified by Dr. Anne Fitzgerald, the General Reporter for the section on Electronic Commerce. The general purpose of the report is to summarize the current state of the law in the United States. At the conference, other reporters summarized the current state of the law in their own countries.
