Using Course Webpages to Improve Student Learning: Theoretical Justifications and Concrete Examples

Michael Hunter Schwartz

January 26, 2007

Abstract:
This piece, which at this early stage is no more than a short think piece, applies principles of learning theory and instructional design to the use of law school course webpages to supplement classroom instruction.

The essay is an effort to build towards a model of best practices with respect to this teaching tool by drawing on research from other fields. I also wish to provide concrete examples of how I have implemented these ideas to positive effect in my own teaching.

I welcome feedback.
