Abstract:     
Although considered complicated, in Germany the crime of abandonment is important both in legal practice and academia. This research paper describes Subsection 221 of the German Criminal Code and analyses the changes the rule has undergone in recent decades and centuries. In particular the effects of the 1998 Criminal Law Reform will be investigated. Please note that the article is in German.
