Canon 2 of the Code of Judicial ConductLeslie W. AbramsonLouis D. Brandeis School of Law Marquette Law Review, Vol. 79, No. 949, 1996 Abstract: This Article discusses Canon 2 of the Code of Judicial Conduct ("Code"). It focuses on the diverse parts of Canon 2 and the cases in which courts have explicitly applied those standards. Each section compares the language of the 1972 and 1990 Codes, and the extent to which the states have modified the Code's black-letter language or its Commentary. Following the exposition of Code language, the Article discusses and analyzes the judicial decisions that contravene the norm of Canon 2 judicial decision-making.
