Abstract

The political regime in contemporary Russia is accurately characterized as semi-authoritarian. That type of political regime places some limits on organized groups in civil society, though it also needs to give those organizations enough independence to serve the genuine interests of citizens. This paper will examine the ways in which groups in Russian society.
