Abstract
We investigated a possible link among the governance practiced by some countries to CO 2 emissions and the use of energy by these countries. To achieve this goal, we selected a sample of data composed of variables from 54 countries, from 2000 to 2008, available at the World Bank website. We used the method of linear regression with panel data, and the method of structural equations in order to make a robustness test. The results of the two models converged and showed the existence of a statistical significant relationship between governance, CO 2 emissions and the use of energy.
