Abstract

This paper deals with trade marks protection in Qatar. It covers the meaning of trade marks and the signs that would be registered in line with the current Trade Marks Law of 2002. The paper also attempts to define, investigate and draw attention to the importance of well-known marks. It further examines the rights conferred by a mark and the obligation imposed upon its owner to use it. It finally looks at the right of the owner to license it to a third party before providing the conclusion.
