Abstract

The purpose of this case study is to propose an optimized facility layout for Yewolashet wood and metal work private enterprise with the intention of developing an efficient and feasible layout system. The efficiency and feasibility of the layout is measured by the physical arrangement of machines and the satisfaction of area requirement for each machine that solves facility layout problem. The study compares the cost of existing facility with the new optimized one. Simulation has been done for the optimized facility layout with the help of ARENA-10 software package to visualize the queue time of production. The paper concludes highlighting the advantage of the optimized facility layout of the enterprise working area.
