Abstract

This book deals with how memory politics shape the current Chilean political landscape, 40 years after the Chilean military coup. It invites a range of Chilean and international political scientists and Chile experts to address the subject of memory, often neglected from within the discipline of politics. The introduction and afterword suggest why political scientists have been reluctant to engage with memory issues, and yet show how the active deployment of memory tropes and symbols is a key feature of Chile's present-day political landscape.

Keywords: Chile, memory
