Abstract

French Abstract: Depuis 1950, la géographie des populations d’Amérique latine a fait l’objet de trois surprises pour la plupart des experts n’ayant pas assimilé les logiques de la science de la population : une baisse rapide de la mortalité, puis une diminution également rapide de la fécondité et enfin un ralentissement du rythme d’urbanisation. Mais ces évolutions comportent de nombreuses diversités selon les pays.

English Abstract: Since 1950, the geography of the population of Latin America has been the subject of three surprises most experts have not assimilated the logic of science of the population: a rapid decline in mortality and a decrease also rapid fertility and finally a slowdown in the pace of urbanization. But these developments have many differences between countries.
