Abstract

The purpose of this Article is to discuss three areas of the law in which young insurance defense lawyers should have a keen awareness of. The first part of this Article examines the importance and significance of requests for admissions. The second part of this Article analyzes an often-overlooked procedural mechanism, an offer of judgment, which can result in a resolution of a civil case without proceeding to trial. The third part of this Article discusses the transfer of cases from small claims court to either a county, district, or circuit court which is allowed in some jurisdictions.
