Abstract
This paper analyzes the nature of commerce in general. Shows the first steps of the commerce thought and how a commercial society structured. In the economy, the land is the source of commerce. This period of Middle Ages the land has a central role to the economy and to the society. Hence, in this work are analyzed the approaches of Richard Cantillon.
