Abstract

Agricultural operations play an important role in overall crop development. There are different operations such as tillage, sowing, weed management, fertilizing, irrigation and crop harvesting. Among all the operations sowing plays a crucial role for proper growth of the crop. Thus in paddy cultivation mechanization plays an important role in agriculture. Different types of machinery are available for rice cultivation, but among them, transplanter plays a vital role for transplanting paddy seedling. In this paper, four bar crank-rocker mechanism is proposed for transplanting paddy seedlings from nursery to fields. Kinematic synthesis technique is adopted to identify the dimensions for the given trajectory. Three precision point method is chosen and analyzed to determine the dimensions of the mechanism to follow a particular path.
