Abstract

Crime rate in the society is increasing day by day. Due to increase in numbers of threats and intrusions in society, everyone needs a Hi-Tech security system to keep their belongings safe and secured. This paper aims at designing a home security system using Raspberry Pi along with USB Webcam as an image capturing unit to recognize the motion in unauthorized area. If any motion exists then it will send an image to mobile phone of relevant person via Telegram which has an amazing feature as Telegram Bot which provide APIs to build solutions which is compatible with Raspberry Pi IoT infrastructure. At the same time this system also sends information regarding hazards like LPG leakage or short circuit by sending message via Telegram Bot. A MQTT protocol is utilized for this purpose which depends on publish/subscribe paradigm. Node MCU is used as a sensor node where as raspberry pi 3 are utilized for sensor node network as a gateway. In addition to this, mosquitto is also used as a MQTT broker on raspberry pi 3 which collects information from different sensor nodes and send to the user via Telegram Bot.
