Security Awareness Game (Augmented Reality)

Abstract

The number of frauds occurring on daily basis is on a rise and the major factor leading to this is the lack of security awareness. People take many things for granted which end up in loss of data and even money, take for instance withdrawing money from an ATM and assuming the ATM is fully secured. Many people are aware of such scams and threats but are not willing to invest the time to learn about it as it is a vast topic and not everyone is a fan of reading large articles. Also, there are people who are not even aware that such threats exist. This thus leads to the growing reports of scams and fraudulent acts, many of which are not even reported. This paper shows how security awareness can be spread with the use of a game. The game will incorporate augmented reality so as to make it an interesting as well as an educational experience. The use of augmented reality will not only aid in the learning process but it will also let people explore this young technology. After playing the game, people will have a good idea on various threats that occur on day to day basis are carried out and how to avoid being a victim to them.
