Abstract

The world had been water stress for decades on account of demands for drinking water and irrigation. Half a billion people in the world face severe water scarcity all around the year. Rain water is widely used in rural and coastal area of India. It is not common in urban area where overexploitation is increased and water demand is increasing day by day and is more than ever. The solution of this problem in urban area is to use rain water wisely. This study aims to demonstrate the utilization of rain water in the University campus of RTU (Rajasthan Technical University), Kota, a district in the state of Rajasthan. We have used the rain water for drinking purpose, recharging the underground aquifers and also proposed the construction of a lake.
