Abstract

Internet of Things has been widely used for various aspects of our lives such as a security system, agriculture, smart homes. In this paper, a new innovative way to modify the drainage system which makes use of the internet of things is presented. The invention primarily focuses on the drainage system of house/societies and converting them into smart drainage system with various sensors, controlling unit, feedback unit and display system. The sensors detect the water quality in real-time conditions where a monitoring device receives the sensed data from sensors and triggers activation of different actions like purification, separation, and transportation using various distinct mechanisms. This builds the whole system efficient and improvement in Artificial Intelligence can make the mechanism more precise and adaptive. Since many regions in the world like South Australia and California are facing extreme drought conditions for many years. There is a need for a long-term solution as many densely populated areas around the world are predicted to go through similar conditions in the near future. The rainfall in these regions is less, but even that is not being used effectively since it goes into the drain systems as run-off. Thus, this system will prove to be a great innovation for recycling and usage of water.
