IoT-Based Energy Management System with Data Logging Capability

Abstract
With increasing energy demand and the necessity to fulfill the energy requirement it is mandatory to increase the energy generation. However, shortage of supply resources stands as a blockade in this present scenario. Hence, an efficient energy management system is required. This paper presents a working prototype of an energy management system coupled with IOT for data logging purpose. The prototype shows interfacing between sensors-Arduino, serial communication between Arduino and NodeMCU, interaction of NodeMCU-loads and data logging in cloud using IOT. The loads namely LED light and Fan are PWM controlled by the NodeMCU with required algorithms and data received from the Arduino. Also the data received from the Arduino is converted into standard units using proper factors and uploaded to cloud using IOT for data logging and monitoring purpose.
