Abstract
The industry is slated to enter the 4th Wave of Revolution - called Industry 4.0 - which envisages "plethoric use of devices or physical things connect through internet'. These cyber systems are being designed to allow high interactivity and interoperability, affected remotely.
The necessity the Foundries too emulate such progress and equip themselves to imbibe the use of cyber physical systems is already felt by industrial leaders, and their significant improvements in performance is likely to be a driver to the journey to Foundry 4.0. The trends of modernisation in foundries, which are "Foundry 3.0+", sketch the trend that in coming times "integrated physical flows of material components and information flow will not be individual pats, but will get duly co-ordinated and synchronized, as products will be inextricably linked to 'their' information". They are thus likely to be more flexible in their approach, and sustainable in their objectives.
The present work indicates the "Road Map of Transformation", highlighting 'how the Integration with Information Technology (IIT) is slated to facilitate the progross to Foundry 4.0'.
