Abstract

This work evaluates the founding scenario viz-a-viz the 'Make in India' perspective, in the newer environment of prospects and risks. The reasons for current stagnation in capacities are recognized, and the call for a renaissance of our founding competencies is made. The paper suggests that leap forward is awaiting, but to rise to occasion the Foundries must attempt strategic development of systems, based upon contextual analysis in lines of clause 4.0 of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard.

Keywords: ‘Make in India’, ISO 9001:2015, Quality Management Standard, GDP of India, work skills of foundrymen, innovation
