Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of information and communication technologies in intercultural competence of Russian students. We considered the structure of intercultural competence which includes: General cultural and cultural knowledge; Practical communication skills; Intercultural psychological susceptibility. We made an attempt to understand the role of information and communication technologies in the pedagogical aspect. The interpretation of the categories “information-communication technology”, “intercultural competence” is given. We made the conclusion that Russian students become more susceptible and open to a new culture, are able to recognize their stereotypes and prejudices and change them, they change their opposition to cultural differences to a positive attitude towards them, and the nature of the relationship between students of different nationalities, there is an increase in empathic and tolerant attitudes towards other cultures and peoples, and an increased ability to recognize their cultural identity. The use of information and communication technologies leads to an increase in the amount of new knowledge and to the development of a critical analysis of information; development of the ability to effectively interact in virtual and real intercultural communication is developed.
