Abstract
The paper deals with the analysis of informational communication technology as the approach to improve the quality of education in Russia. In the narrow sense, quality of education is considered as a category that characterizes the result of the educational process: the level of formation of general theoretical knowledge, practical skills of graduates: the level of intellectual development, the moral qualities of the person; features of value orientations that determine worldview; activity and creative attitude to reality, manifested in the activity. The quality of education in a broad sense is the approach to education as a socio-pedagogical process and is considered as a set of characteristics of this process: the realization of its goals, modern technologies, as well as the conditions necessary to achieve positive results. We made the conclusion that information and communication technologies play a significant role in the development of modern education. However, the decision on the appropriateness of the use of new technologies in connection with the improvement of the quality of education should be made taking into account the general strategic goals of the development of education. The use of ICT in teaching and the creation of educational networks are indispensable conditions for the further development of education, socio-pedagogical process.
