Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of information and communication technologies on the quality and availability of medical service in Russia. The influence of the use of information and communication technologies in the field of medicine on the quality and availability of medical services is considered in the article. We identified and considered problems of ICT implementation in the Russian health care system. We focused on the measures to improve the use of ICT in the health system. We made the conclusion that the following measures should applied to increase the efficiency of ICT use in the health care system: development and teaching of specialized courses for students of higher and secondary medical educational institutions about the use of information technologies in the field of health care; courses within the system of advanced training and retraining of medical personnel; the increase in targeted financing of programs to equip medical centers with appropriate equipment, providing dedicated broadband access to the Internet; the creation of a specialized electronic database accessible to all medical workers with a unified system of interconnection of various health care institutions; informing the society about the possibility of using electronic resources in the health care system.
