Abstract
There is a growing awareness in Britain and Europe about the importance of higher education for the development of a knowledge-based economy. Universities worldwide are increasingly required to produce highly skilled graduates who are able to respond to the ever changing needs of the workplace and the complex contemporary.
In addition, the rapid expansion of higher education across Europe over the past two decades has raised questions about the quality of graduates the labor market and the ability of graduates to meet the needs of employers. Indeed, serious concerns have been expressed about the 'gap' that is widening between the skills and abilities of graduates, and the requirements and demands of the working environment in a society increasingly mobile and global.
Although there are concerns that, there are important gaps in current knowledge that connects the perspective of graduates and employers about the context and content of the European Business School education with graduation work.
Expansion of the participation of higher education in many countries in recent decades has led to increased interest by researchers and policy makers in the 'education-to-work' transitions new graduates and the extent to which they have been 'employed.'
From the perspective of employers, "work" often seems to refer to 'job-readiness'; namely, possession of skills, knowledge, attitudes and commercial understanding that will enable new graduates to make a productive contribution to organizational goals soon after starting work.
