Abstract

The research aims to explore the SEZ development, its main drivers and evolution in the PRC since it pursued the ‘reform and opening up’ policy four decade ago in 1978. The research will trace PRC developmental growth strategy with an objective to assess critical success factors for SEZ development; draw policy lessons; share key challenges, and opportunities for SEZ development in the development countries especially Pakistan. The research will review the recent trends and evolution in the conceptual development of zones in the PRC and Central Asia for bringing out policy lessons best suited for Pakistan and other developing countries on SEZ development.
