Abstract
Routing plays an essential role to achieve the success in a vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) environment, which is difficult due to dynamic topology and high mobility of VANET environment. In this paper, we propose an efficient Junction-based Routing Table Maintenance (JRTM) to improve the position-based routing protocol for the vehicle to vehicle (V2V) VANET urban area environment. JRTM protocol is capable to attain healthier communication constancy and lesser communication cost. The method of a routing table updating can assist a vehicle to find its own fixed route information, which assists to discover appropriate transmit vehicle nodes in a additional effective mode, and the maintenance repetition in a routing table will significantly decrease the chance of discover no appropriate transmit vehicle nodes. The simulation outcome shows that our protocol attains greater performance as compared with other junction-based routing protocols.
