Preprints with The Lancet is a collaboration between The Lancet Group of journals and SSRN to facilitate the open sharing of preprints for early engagement, community comment, and collaboration. Preprints available here are not Lancet publications or necessarily under review with a Lancet journal. These preprints are early-stage research papers that have not been peer-reviewed. The usual SSRN checks and a Lancet-specific check for appropriateness and transparency have been applied. The findings should not be used for clinical or public health decision-making or presented without highlighting these facts. For more information, please see the FAQs.

Purpose To assess the safe and efficiency of TACE+Stent for treatment of HCC with PVTT.
Materials and Methods: We searched to Cochrane library, PubMed, EMBASE, CNKI, Wangfang Data and CQVIP. We assessed the qualities of included studies. We analyzed the characteristic data, tested heterogeneity, explored heterogeneity and tested publication bias by software-Review Manger 3.5.
Results: Totally 8 clinical controlled trials were selected with the inclusion criterion. The results shown that the pressure of main portal vein after stent placement were significant lower than no stent placement. The cumulative stent patency rates and survival rates in 6 and 12 month of TACE+Stent were lower than TACE+Stent+I125 seed/3-DCRT. The survival rates in 6 and 12 moth of TACE+Stent was higher than TACE alone.
Conclusion: For HCC patients with PVTT, TACE+stent was safe and efficient. The efficiency of TACE+stent were better than TACE alone. TACE+stent combined with I125 seed/3-DCRT was more effective than TACE+stent.
