Abstract

English Abstract: This paper expounds and develops a semiotic-communicative notion introduced by Erving Goffman in his book "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life" (1956). To whatever is being communicated in an official or explicit way in a given social interaction one must add whatever is communicated discreetly or indirectly through a series of secondary communicational channels, giving rise to the phenomenon Goffman calls 'double talk'.
