Abstract

This paper proposes a roadmap for implementing a public platform for the Indian justice system, based on the principles and ideas described in Whitepaper series on Next Generation Justice Platform, Paper 1: The Vision (Paper 1). The paper focuses on the Indian judiciary and the functions, tasks, and services that support it, describing the historical evolution of its information systems with the goal of understanding challenges unique to the Indian context and how they can be overcome. The features and services that the paper proposes have been identified based on the principles outlined in Paper 1. The path to implementing these solutions takes into account the features and implementation status of present systems.
