Abstract

English abstract: Some reflections on ideological delusion by way of a comment on Teun A. van Dijk's Ideology. The powerful delude others. They believe they have a privileged access to reality, and they use that top-sight or dominant perspective for the purpose of domination. Often enough for domination though delusion. But they also delude themselves — this is the case with the economically powerful as well as with the mentally powerful — because their supposed top-sight is not such, or at any rate it is only a partially dominant perspective, as there are ways into the real and aspects of reality which escape the control of the most vigilant minds, whether their intentions are benevolent or self-seeking.
